It focuses on delivering the knowledge and practical skill for obtaining basic cardiac, vascular and abdominal ultrasound images. The course includes lectures and hands-on scan workshops. Program topics include transducer manipulation, image acquisition, sonographic windows, 2D and Doppler image optimization techniques, and analysis tools.

  • Explain key ultrasound terminology
  • Describe the four transducer manipulation motions
  • Obtain basic 2D images of the following anatomy: heart, carotid artery, and liver
  • Discuss appropriate Doppler use in cardiac and vascular imaging
  • Discuss 2D, color Doppler and spectral Doppler image optimization technique
  • Describe analysis tools, measurements and reporting  for 2D and spectral Doppler
