Course description: 

This course is a review and refresher of anatomy and physiology of the body with an overview of pathology commonly seen with MRI. This is a great review for anyone in the imaging field, especially if transferring into the MR imaging modality. However, the student should have a basic knowledge of MR physics and imaging techniques.





Course objectives: 

Upon completion of this module, the learner will be able to:

  • Describe the basic anatomy and physiology of the organs and glands in the abdomen
  • Identify major structures in the abdomen on a MR image
  • Discuss the MR pulse sequences being utilized in MR body imaging.
  • Describe most common pathological conditions affecting the abdomen
  • Identify the major blood vessels in the body and understand common disorders of the vasculature
  • Describe the basic anatomy and physiology of the thorax and lungs
