Course description: 

Utilizing multiple imaging modalities, this course explores the anatomy and physiology of the gallbladder. The learner will also gain an understanding of the more common pathological conditions affecting the gallbladder, including cholelithiasis and gallstones. The course will also explore the specific diagnostic procedures associated with those conditions. The learner will be able to apply the anatomical knowledge attained in his/her effort to identify and contrast normal and abnormal images, as well as how anatomy applies in certain situations.



Course objectives: 

Upon completion of this module, the learner will be able to:

  • describe the structure of the gallbladder
  • discuss the function of the gallbladder
  • explain the applied anatomy of the gallbladder
  • discuss the imaging technologies used in gallbladder evaluation
