Course description: 

Spatial orientation and proper communication is important in medicine and radiology. This module will give you an overview of the anatomical basis of the medical language and prepare you for understanding and effectively using medical terminology. 



Course objectives: 


  • Define anatomy and the anatomical position
  • Use proper anatomical terminology for orientation
  • Define planes of section and anatomical views
  • Use the proper terms for body movements
  • Use abdominal quadrants and regions to properly locate internal organs
  • Name the body cavities and define intraperitoneal, extraperitoneal and retroperitoneal
  • Use proper prefixes, roots and suffixes in medical words
