Course description: 

This course is designed to provide assistance and support with ACR testing and educational training focused on current dose management strategies and trends. The onsite support will provide guidance with the ACR procedure and testing requirements. Support for technologist and physicist with testing. In addition, this onsite training will provide an educational review on dose management strategies and optimization. Image Quality and artifacts will be discussed along with QA and daily maintenance procedures. This course provides CT technologists and providers with a comprehensive overview of the ACR Accreditation submission process.


Course objectives: 

  • Apply ALARA principles to all generation of protocols for everyday scanning by technologists
  • Explain the Alliance goal and strategy
  • Assist and support the technologist with ACR technical and clinical data acquisition
  • Assist and support physicist with ACR testing
  • Explain ACR phantom set up and imaging
  • Review data submission requirements
  • Discuss ACR testing procedures and requirements
  • Use and explain dose tools
  • Review daily and monthly QA testing
  • Recognize dose management and strategies
