Course description: 

This course provides an overview of ectopic pregnancy. Included are discussions on possible locations and presenting features. Various treatment options including the risks and benefits of those options are included. Clinical and sonographic findings are compared to laboratory and biopsy results. Two clinical case studies are presented that correspond to treatment options discussed.



Course objectives: 

After reviewing all the information and participating in the quiz exercises, you will be able to:

  • Identify risk factors as well as presenting features of ectopic pregnancy
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of ectopic pregnancy locations and frequency
  • Explain differences and benefits of various surgical treatment options
  • Identify the most logical treatment option based on presented patient criteria
  • Incorporate sonographic and clinical findings for viable intrauterine pregnancies, ectopic pregnancies, and indeterminate sonographic findings
  • Expand the outline in the left hand navigation column to begin reading the course content.
