Course description: 

Mobile fluoroscopy equipment has expanded the use of fluoroscopy to a variety of settings outside the radiology department, such as surgical suites, cardiac catheterization labs and pain clinics. To safely operate this versatile equipment, professionals must have in-depth knowledge of C-arm unit components and their function. Radiologist assistant Chris Young, B.S., R.R.A., R.T.(R), provides a comprehensive look at various aspects of mobile fluoroscopy imaging, including specific equipment features and ways to minimize radiation exposure to patients and clinical personnel.

About the Author: Chris Young, BS, R.R.A., R.T. (R)
Chris Young, BS, R.R.A., R.T. (R), received a bachelor of science degree in radiologic sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) in May 2005. He then moved to Louisville, Kentucky, and worked as a diagnostic radiologic technologist at the University of Louisville Hospital. Mr Young graduated from the radiologist assistant program at the UNC-CH in July 2008. In August 2008 he began working as a radiologist assistant with DXP Imaging in Louisville, Kentucky. He hopes to one day perform medical mission work in radiology, and perhaps teach in a university setting.
