Course description: 

This session will look at the imaging anatomy of brain. It will focus on identifying key structures within the brain on both computed tomography and magnetic resonance images. 3D reconstructions will be used to aid visualisation of certain structures.

Upon completion of this module, the participant will be able to:

  • Recognise the appearances of the brain on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging scans
  • Describe the use of imaging in different planes, including 3D reconstructions
  • Identify the major structures of the brain on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging
  • Identify the major blood vessels and cerebrospinal fluid spaces on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging
