Course description: 

This case study presents information regarding an ovarian stromal tumor. By reviewing the presented medical history, lab results, and test results of several diagnostic imaging modalities, the learner will examine the characteristics of this pathology.




Course objectives: 

Following the review of this information, as well as the discussion provided in the library, the learner will be able to:

  • Describe the grayscale sonographic grading system established by the American College of Radiology (ACR)
  • Discuss the etiology, survival rate, and types of ovarian cancer
  • Recognize the correlation of patient symptoms and sonographic findings
  • Compare the different imaging modalities for diagnosis of ovarian cancer
  • Explain the use of spectral and color Doppler as a tool in diagnosing ovarian masses
