Course description: 

Audience: All Radiographers. This course is approved by ASRT for 0.75 Category A+ CE. 

Prerequisites: Plain x-rays of the Chest: General Anatomy & Physiology is suggested.

This session will look at the normal appearances of a chest x-ray. It will cover the radiological anatomy, use of a search strategy, common radiographic abnormalities and normal variants.




Course objectives: 

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Identify the anatomy of the chest on an x-ray
  • Develop a search strategy when examining chest x-rays
  • Use the silhouette sign to locate abnormalities within the thorax
  • Recognize common normal variants that may simulate disease
