They have expertise in a large portfolio of topics and are able to deliver customized didactic and hands-on education to you and your colleagues.

Philips recognizes that every clinical practice is unique and the need for tailored education to address a wide range of clinical challenges. With this in mind, this course has been designed to present customized educational experience based on your particular needs from a portfolio of over 25 topics related to advanced application and interpretation of POCUS. Choose up to 4 topics and we will deliver high quality interactive education, convenient to your site, with a world class POCUS educator, and supported by Philips Clinical Service Specialists and equipment.

Topics that can be selected are seen below

• Basic TTE windows and how to perform the exam
• Fundamental transesophageal echocardiography examination for the non-cardiologist
• Complementary utilization of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography in the critically ill
• Comprehensive assessment of left ventricular function and left-sided valvular heart disease
• Echocardiographic assessment of patients with pulmonary hypertension, acute versus chronic right
heart failure and right-sided valvular heart disease
• Comprehensive assessment of fluid responsiveness
• Echocardiographic assessment of patients receiving ECMO support

• Pulmonary embolism evaluation
• LV Function and Cases
• RV Function and Cases
• Usefulness and implementation of ultrasound in witnessed cardiac arrest

Lung/Airway Management

• Lung ultrasound in 5 parts: normal, PTX, pleural effusion, interstitial syndrome, consolidation
• Advanced applications of respiratory ultrasound: from airway management to pneumonia and diaphragmatic ultrasound
• Ultrasound assessment for patients with failed weaning from mechanical ventilation

• Real-time ultrasound application for paracentesis, pericardiocentesis, thoracentesis, thoracostomy tube insertion, and intrabdominal pigtail catheter placement
• Advanced intravascular access and transvenous venous placement using real-time ultrasonography
• Gastric ultrasonography in the perioperative setting.

Practice Establishment

• How to create an ultrasound service in your
• Quality assurance in critical care ultrasonography

• Mastering knobology for the application of critical care ultrasonography- understanding
your own devices

Course objectives:

Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

•Develop crucial cognitive and technical skills for faster and more reliable image acquisition in critically ill patients.

•Adapt POCUS-driven algorithms based on integrated echocardiography and lung ultrasound for cardiocirculatory and respiratory instability in your own scope
of practice.

•Develop technical skills for real-time ultrasound-guided procedures (thoracentesis, pericardiocentesis,
paracentesis, vascular access).

•Acknowledge interchangeable principles and the complementary role of transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography in the critical care setting.

•Understand the evolution from being a POCUS learner to a skilled ultrasonography practitioner.
