Course description: 

This case study provides information about a patient with primary inflammatory breast cancer. The patient's medical history, results of diagnostic procedures and the course of treatment are presented. This case study illustrates some of the mammographic and sonographic features of primary inflammatory breast carcinoma (IBC). The clinical manifestations, pathological findings and imaging features of the entity are discussed.




Course objectives: 

Following the review of the modality results and the discussion provided in the library, you will be able to:

  • Discuss the MRI, sonographic, and mammographic characteristics or features of inflammatory breast carcinoma (IBC).
  • Describe the clinical findings of IBC.
  • Explain the prognosis and treatment for IBC.
  • Identify shared characteristics of IBC and other inflammatory disease.
  • Discuss the American Joint Committee on Cancer staging system for breast cancer.
