Course description: 

Locate landmarks of the cranium, paranasal sinuses, skull foramina and bones in the cranium and face while you explore components of the temporomandibular joint. This module, which includes 3-D animations of the skull and high quality MR and CT images, also will allow you to describe the structure and function of the ear, facial muscles and components of the eye. Follow along at your own pace with easy-to-understand illustrations and interactive animation sequences that allow you to scroll through high quality CT and MR images that show normal findings of the cranium and facial bones.

Sectional Anatomy Essentials Module 2: Cranium and Facial Bones is the second in a series of nine modules.



Course objectives: 

Upon completion of this module, the participant will be able to: 

• Name and locate the anatomical landmarks of the cranium. 
• List and locate the paranasal sinuses and the skull foramina. 
• Name the bones in the cranium and face. 
• List the components of the temporomandibular joint, explain their function and their relationship to each other. 
• Describe the structure and function of the ear. 
• Identify the location and function of the facial muscles. 
• List and locate the components of the eye.
