Course description: 

This is a comprehensive 3.5-day training course for hospital biomedical engineers or others responsible for maintenance of biomedical equipment. This course is designed to utilize “train-the-trainer” approach so upon return they can train other biomeds. Attendees will be prepared to perform computer periodic maintenance and first-line testing and troubleshooting. Attendee will be the 1st line support for Series IV equipment. Training topics include:

  • Adapting Series IV Component System Layout as required to effect quick repairs
  • Perform Series IV device-specific configurations, testing and troubleshooting
  • Perform system cabling configurations and database maintenance

Course objectives: 

At the end of this course you will be able to:

  • Identify, by name, the location of each of the Series IV associated components
  • Describe the function of each of the Series IV components
  • Describe the functional communication between the Host Front End
  • Identify and connect the Series IV external cables
  • ; Troubleshoot typical failures
