Course description: 

This 1-hour Virtual Speaker-Led Training course is designed to provide customers the knowledge to understand the basic anatomy, physiology and hemodynamics of Umbilical Artery Doppler evaluation. Additional topics include the sonographic application and interpretation of Umbilical Artery Doppler waveforms and the relevance of abnormal flow patterns as well as the clinical utility of Doppler evaluation of the umbilical artery and vein in the growth-restricted fetus.

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Understand basic anatomy and physiology of the fetal circulation as it pertains to the umbilical artery
  • Understand how to obtain accurate umbilical artery doppler waveforms
  • Recognize normal and abnormal umbilical artery doppler waveforms
  • Understand the significance and impact of abnormal uterine artery doppler evaluations
  • Understand the use of Doppler evaluation of the umbilical artery in the evaluation of management of the growth-restricted fetus
