Course description: 

The Musculoskeletal Ultrasound University is a two-day, physician-led course that will provide a comprehensive overview of the practical applications, techniques, and interpretation of MSK imaging. This course will be taught by Nelson A. Hager, MD, MS who is Board certified in Sports Medicine and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  He is very well known in his specialty and provides numerous MSK lectures and courses throughout the country.

Course objectives: 

Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to:

  • Explain the basic imaging principles of MSK ultrasound
  • Recognize the normal/abnormal structures and artifacts of the shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand, hip, knee, ankle, and foot
  • Identify the limitations and capabilities of MSK ultrasound imaging
  • Describe the role of MSK ultrasound for interventional procedures
  • Explain the MSK ultrasound coding and billing practices and documentation
  • Increase knowledge and diagnostic confidence in the performance and/or interpretation of MSK US exams
