Course description: 

This curriculum discusses the hardware, software and general usage of the ClearVue 850 Ultrasound system. You will explore the main components of the cart and control panel, familiarize yourself with the compatible transducers and associated clinical applications, review peripheral setup and the steps in performing a routine exam. Learners will also explore the protocol feature and learn how to review, report and export exams.

Course objectives: 

The System Overview, Transducers and Peripherals Setups module will:

  • Explain the main components of the ClearVue system
  • Review the layout and controls of the control panel
  • Describe the image display icons
  • Review the details of the image display screen
  • Explain how to properly connect a transducer to the system
  • Describe how to select from available transducers
  • Discuss correlation indicators for use and supporting transducers
  • Identify the primary exams optimized for each transducer
  • Identify the imaging modes available on each transducer
  • Describe the configuration of local (USB) printers and customize the properties to print images, Setup screen, PDE Screen, Reports, and Help topics
  • Explain the configuration of print layout format for multiple images on a page
  • Discuss the configuration of other peripheral devices (foot switch, DVD)

The Performing a Study and Exam Protocol module will:

  • Describe how to select an imaging mode
  • Explain Trackball functions
  • Describe Simpson’s 3-Point EF calculation
  • Review launch of advanced modes
  • Explain other common analysis tools
  • Review how to create new protocols and modify existing protocols
  • Explain how to acquire information required to complete each view
  • Describe the use of protocol quick keys to navigate views
  • Describe how to end a protocol appropriately

The Annotations and Body Markers; Review, Report and Export module will:

  • Discuss how to activate, edit and delete annotations
  • Explain the create and edit features of annotations
  • Describe features the body marker function
  • Explain the toolbar icons for report, review and export
  • Describe how to view and edit reports
  • Explain how to export reports and images
