This tutorial discusses the Philips VISIQ ultrasound system.  The module allows you to explore the features and functionality of the ultrasound such as; Startup and Device Configuration, Imaging Modes and Optimization, Measurements and Annotations, and Performing an Exam.

Course objectives: 

The Setup and Device Configuration section of the module will:

  • Identify the touch screen gestures for VISIQ interface
  • Locate home screen controls
  • Discuss system status icons
  • Describe how to configure local (USB) printers
  • Describe how to configure PACS connection
  • Explain HDMI connectivity

The Imaging Modes and Optimization section of the module will:

  • Discuss Imaging and Review Control Icons and functionality
  • Discuss the major imaging modes on VISIQ: 2D, Color, M-Mode & Doppler
  • Explain image capture methods
  • Locate the image optimization controls: AutoScan, iScan, Gain, Depth, Zoom, Xres, SonoCT
  • Explain touch screen manipulation of color box
  • Explain touch screen manipulation of pulsed Doppler 

The Measurements and Annotations section of the module will:

  • Explain how to perform a 2D caliper distance measurement
  • Explain how to perform a 2D ellipse measurement
  • Describe the features and use of annotations

The Performing an Exam section of the module will:

  • Describe how to start and an exam
  • Explain Quick Review
  • Discuss how to export to media and PACS
  • Discuss how to review a previous exam
