What you will learn

Course description:

This one-hour educational session provides a focused review of Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) in adults. The course begins with an overview of TGA anatomy, underlying pathophysiology, and common clinical presentations. Participants will examine key imaging modalities used to identify, evaluate, and quantify TGA following surgical repair, including atrial switch, arterial switch, and other operative variations. Emphasis is placed on the role of echocardiography in surveillance, including assessment of systemic ventricular function, baffle or conduit integrity, and long-term hemodynamic considerations.

Through image-based discussion and case examples, learners will analyze echocardiographic findings that support diagnosis, guide treatment planning, and contribute to ongoing patient management.
