What you will learn

Course description: 

The attendee will learn how “speckles” are created in the ultrasound field and how speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) was validated. In addition, how STE is applied in the pediatric population with congenital heart disease (CHD). The technical pearls and caveats when applying STE strain imaging will be discussed.  Case studies in patients with CHD will be analyzed.



Course objectives: 

• Describe how STE strain imaging is applied to pediatric patients with CHD

• List the fundamentals of speckles and their relationship to STE strain imaging

• Demonstrate a systematic echocardiographic approach to STE strain imaging in patients with CHD
