Register What you will learn Course description: This one-day course is designed to provide heart surgeons, interventional cardiologists, non-interventional cardiologists, cardiac anesthesiologists, and cardiac sonographers with the fundamental skills required to obtain and analyze high-quality Live 3D TEE images. The course focuses on image acquisition and analysis needed for interventional Mitral Valve procedures. The small class size of this course enables participants to interact with the instructor closely and to receive individual hands-on training, with particular emphasis on mitral valve apparatus analysis. Educational material will be presented through lectures, case presentations, and informal discussions. It will thoroughly introduce the fundamentals of Live 3D TEE and its practical use for mitral valve procedures. George Gellert, MD, will teach this program. Medical Director, Interventional Echocardiography, Structural Heart Program, Cavanagh Heart Center, Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Phoenix, Arizona, and Associate Clinical Professor, Department of Anesthesiology, Creighton University School of Medicine. Currency: USDCourse objectives: Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to: • Explain the relevant mitral valve anatomy for Transcatheter and Surgical Mitral Valve procedures. • Describe how to acquire, crop, manipulate, display, and quantitate 3D TEE images. • Discuss relevant applications of mitral valve analysis. • Summarize echocardiographic guidance for Transcatheter Mitral Valve procedures. • Relate the relevant 3D TEE assessment for Transcatheter and Surgical Mitral Valve procedures Course details Course Code: CV361Delivery method: Instructor-led Language: English Duration: 1 Day Course instructor(s) : George Gellert, MDCourse disclaimer: The content is for information and education only. Many of our courses are approved for CEU credit by the ASRT, which have been accepted by ARDMS and ICAEL, ICAVL. However it is the responsibility of the REGISTRANT to assure the ASRT credits are acceptable for his or her purposes. This activity may be available in multiple formats or from different sponsors. ARRT regulations state that an individual may not repeat a lecture presentation for credit if it was reported in the same biennium. The education programs provided by Philips are NOT eligible for AMA Category 1 CME credits through Philips. The AMA Standards for Commercial Support clearly prohibit any commercial interest from control of CME activities. Limitations consist of (a) Identification of CME needs; (b) Determination of educational objectives; (c) Selection and presentation of content; (d) Selection of all persons and organizations that will be in a position to control the content of the CME; (e) Selection of educational methods; (f) Evaluation of the activity. Audience Audience statement: This program requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of 2D TEE and basic system instrumentation. It does not offer hands-on system acquisition. Consider the Advanced System Training series for acquisition training. Course level: AdvancedPrerequisite skills: Experience with system instrumentation and 2D TEE is required for all participants in this program. Introduction to the basic use of 3D TTE is suggested for all attendees but is not a requirement. We recommend the Advanced System Training 3D course for Live 3D imaging and instrumentation.
