Musculoskeletal Lower Extremity Ultrasound is a one-day, physician led course that will provide a comprehensive overview of the practical applications, techniques, and interpretation of MSK imaging of the lower extremities.

Course objectives: 

Upon completion of this course, the learner should be able to:

  • Explain and discuss the basic imaging principles of MSK Ultrasound
  • Recognize the normal/abnormal structures and artifacts of the hip, knee, ankle and foot
  • Describe how to perform a systematic and regional MSK US of the hip, knee, ankle and foot
  • Identify the limitations and capabilities of MSK ultrasound imaging
  • Describe the role of MSK Ultrasound for interventional procedures of the lower extremity where applicable
  • Increase knowledge and diagnostic confidence in the performance and or interpretation of MSK US exams of the lower extremities
