Course description: 

This 1.5-hour Virtual Speaker-Led Course is designed to review the more common placental abnormalities encountered in Obstetrical Ultrasound exams.  Program topics include placenta previa, low-lying placenta, vasa previa, placenta accreta, velamentous cord insertion, and C-section scar pregnancy.  Multiple case studies and images will be reviewed.

Upon completion of this course, attendees should be able to:

  • Review the natural history of placenta previa and low-lying placenta.
  • Understand the role of Doppler velocimetry in correctly identifying a vasa previa
  • Identify marginal and velamentous cord insertions.
  • Illustrate the common ultrasound findings seen with placenta accreta.
  • Understand the subtypes of C-Section scar pregnancies and their outcomes
