Philips Certified Professional Program
This Privacy Statement relates to the Philips Certified Professional Program. This is a statement about Philips’s privacy practices, not a contract or agreement.
GENERAL. When you access and use the Philips Certified Professional Program Web Site (“Site”), Philips will obtain certain personal information or data about you. It will be data that (1) you provide us to register and participate in certification programs offered by Philips, (2) you provide us to create and maintain your account on the Site, and (3) we obtain as a part of your activities on the Site. How Philips stores, uses, transfers and otherwise processes that personal information is explained in this “Privacy Statement.”
Examples: Some (but not all) examples of data that might be collected by the Site from you are:
- Your name and contact information.
- Your company name
- Your IP Address, operating system and browser
- Your image, using the Remote Proctor tool, if you take a certification exam.
WHY IS YOUR PERSONAL DATA BEING PROCESSED? The information we collect from you is used to complete and support the activity for which you provided the information, for example, to provide certification training materials and testing. We may collect Personal Data to process your registration for various certification programs of your choosing. We may also collect information concerning your use of training materials and your responses and scores on certification exams. If you take a certification exam, your image may be collected using the Remote Proctor tool. Lastly, we may ask you for information when you report a problem with the Site or we may keep a record of any correspondence transpired should you contact us.
IP ADDRESS AND COOKIES. Cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. During the course of your use of the Site, we may utilize cookies, as well as collect information about your computer, such as your IP Address, your operating system and browser. This information is used as part of the user authentication process and for system administration. Additionally, it will help us improve our website and develop better and more personalized services. You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you log on to certain parts of the Site.
WHO WILL RECEIVE YOUR DATA? Generally, we will only use your personal information to administer certification programs that you choose to enroll in. Certain personal data will be disclosed to our trusted third parties in the following circumstances:
- At your request, certification status or exam results may be sent to third parties requesting information about your certifications.
- We will store your personal information with a third party database provider in order to facilitate your requests for more information and for further communications.
- We may need to disclose your information, including your IP address and certain cookies, to our third party business partners that we may engage to assist us with the administration of your account or helping us operate the Site, including auditing its operations, investigation of any security incidents, or similar such engagements.
- Uses and disclosures necessary to comply with a legal obligation upon us under applicable law or to comply with a government agency or other government authority requiring such access.
- Individuals in the European Economic Area (“EEA”). Your personal information may be used by all of our trading names and transferred to countries outside of the EEA, including the United States, for processing. These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the EEA. If we transfer your information outside of the EEA in this way, we will take steps to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected. In addition, if you access the Site while you are outside of the EEA, your information may be transferred outside of the EEA in order to provide you with such access.
HOW WILL YOUR PERSONAL DATA BE STORED? Your personal data will be stored by our third-party partner, Assessment Systems Corporation (http://www.assess.com/), a third party online testing and certification provider.

The most recent version shall supersede any and all other versions of this Privacy Statement. Philips reserves the right to change or modify this Privacy Statement at any time and at its sole discretion by posting revisions.
HOW YOU CAN UNSUBSCRIBE FROM COMMUNICATIONS, DELETE OR CHANGE YOUR DATA. You can opt-out of receiving direct communications from Philips at any time by contacting certified.professional@philips.com. You can request edits or deletion of any of your personal information only by contacting certified.professional@philips.com.
