What you will learn

Course description:

This focused one-hour session provides an overview of ventricular septal defects in adult patients, emphasizing anatomy, hemodynamics, and key clinical considerations. Learners will explore common VSD types, the functional impact of these defects, and how they present within the broader context of adult congenital heart disease (ACHD).

Using case-based examples and multimodality imaging, the lecture highlights the role of echocardiography in identifying, assessing, and quantifying VSDs, including post-repair evaluation. Participants will review features that support diagnostic confidence and contribute to informed treatment planning and long-term follow-up.
