What you will learn

Course description:

This one-hour session provides a focused review of atrioventricular septal defects in adult patients, highlighting anatomy, hemodynamics, and key clinical considerations. Learners will explore the structural variations of AVSD, how these defects influence cardiac function, and the ways they may present clinically across different stages of adult congenital heart disease.

Through case-based examples and multimodality imaging, participants will examine the role of echocardiography in identifying, evaluating, and quantifying AVSDs, including post-repair assessment. The session emphasizes imaging features that support diagnostic confidence and contribute to treatment planning and ongoing management.
