  • Review core physiological concepts of left ventricular diastolic function.
  • Review the role of echocardiography in assessing left ventricular diastolic function in patients with suspected and established heart failure with preserved and reduction ejection fraction.
  • Appreciate the relevance of pre-clinical diastolic dysfunction.
  • Review echocardiographic cases in diastolic dysfunction and introduce some novel echocardiographic parameters of diastolic function.
