Thinking strategically will provide an advantage for an organization, team or an individual. Business professionals often assume that they have a strategic mindset, but fail to understand and apply true strategy.   This Foundations of Strategic Thinking Course will equip participants with the critical thinking skills and process that allow them to make solid strategic decisions in their ever-changing work environments. This program will present the core areas of strategy and develop participants’ skills for translating strategic tactics in to real-world implementation. Participants will complete the program with an understanding of how to make effective decisions that will bring about long term results.

The goal of the “Essentials” workshop is to provide solid foundation of strategic planning knowledge for the participants. As a result of participating in the “Strategic Planning Essentials” workshop, participants will be able to:

• Describe how strategic thinking ensures organizational success

• Understand the role of vision and creativity in strategic thinking

• Develop strategic-thinking skills in themselves and others.

• Define the key components of strategic planning

• Identify four levels of planning

• Explore the crucial stages for strategic plan development

• Work through the key stages of the strategic-planning process

• Identify methods for involving key stakeholders in strategy formulation and implementation.

• Describe common obstacles to strategic planning and ways to overcome them.

• Learn how to implement and reinforce a successful strategic plan
